Kitty Fever

My husband has a thing for orange cats. He loves Garfield. Since moving into our house he has been dieing to get a cat. He is worse than a kid when he wants something.

Last weekend I contacted the local "Love a Stray". They are looking for us two kittens, one orange and the other we dont have a preference on color. The lady who I talked to is suppose to bring me a few kittens up to work tonight for me to check them out.
As soon as I told David I talked to the lady we went out and bought some toys, a cat pan, food dish, and water dish. Now once we get the kitties we can go get the cat litter and food.
The cats names are already picked out Garfield and Pokie. Once we get a dog his name will be Odie. Don''t you just love my husbands obsession.

On a side note- any tips on taking care of two kittens. I have always had cats but my parents are the ones who took car of them.

I LOVE orange tabbies. My kitty, Hermione, is and orange tabby and I wasn't even looking for a cat, but she was a stray someone was trying to get rid of :( When I heard she was orange, I was sold!
As for taking care of a kitten, it really isn't that difficult. They are very self sufficient. Show them where the litter box is and where the food is, and I would suggest feeding them on a schedule (it'll help later in life). If your house is really big and they might get lost, keep them both in the bathroom, or another small room for a day or two. But generally they come litter trained (it's natural for cats to want to bury their waste) and they don't really need a lot of other training aside from the usual don't get on the tables! For that, I suggest a spray bottle. Doesn't hurt them but discourages them doing things you don't want them to do :)
And post pictures when you get them!!

Enjoy your new kitties once you get them. When we first got ours we would poop him out at night by tossing toys up and down the halls. We still do that once in a while (6yrs later) otherwise he can be a terror at night!

Aw, we too are saving and shopping for a new kitty! We love them!! Cats are so easy to care for. Some words of advice

Set up the kitty litter and food before youbring them home. Once home go straight to kitty litter and place them in and walk away!!! Continue on with your life and let them find their way out. Once that is done, they instinctively are litter trained!!! Amazing!! Same with the food. They get lively at night!!! and are precious!
Enjoy
