Guess What

I gave my husband a surprise for our 9 year dating anniversary, which was Febuary 12, 2011. I know I am a little late at posting this. Things have been crazy the past few months, and I am ready to get back into the blogging world.
Anyways. We went out to a late breakfast early lunch at IHOP. I gave him this box and this present.

We're Expecting
I had found out 3 days before when I took a test at work. I was sick at the time and taking otc meds so I ended up going to the doctor the next day to make sure the test was right and to get pills for being sick. I decided to wait and surprise him for our anniversary.
We are both so excited. We had actually stopped ttc for a little bit. I stopped charting thinking the stress of trying and my horrible work hours were possibly causing our infertility. I am a prime example of when you stop trying it happens.
Dave and I both had ants in our pants and wanted to tell everyone right then. I convienced him to wait until Valentines Day, which was only 2 days away anyways. We got both sets of parents cards that said "Happy Valentines Day Grandma and Grandpa". I also got my sister one that said "Happy Valentines Day to the World Greatest Aunt". They all both the hint and are so excited for us.
My due date is October 8, 2011. I am currently 15 weeks and 3 days. Here is my latest belly picture. I notice that I am gaining weight in the belly since my pants are not fitting very well. I have been wearing a belly band.

There has been so much that has happened this year and so much with my pregnancy I could be here for days telling you all about it. I won't scare you away with a horribly long post today, more will be to come.

P.S. I will be in the process of updating my blog info in the next couple of days to get rid of all broken links.

Someones Pregnant

When you're trying to have a baby it seems like everyone else around you is pregnant or having a baby. I know it will happen when it is ment to happen. It is just stressful when it isn't happening for you. But someone in my house is pregnant and it's not me.
One of my tiger barbs looks to be pregnant. Dave noticed it last night. I am excited for baby fish.

Back At It

I am back at charting my cycles. I went and bought a new basal thermometer at Walmart Tuesday. Since it was the start of a new cycle I decided to get it the ball rolling again instead of waiting another month or so. I had a Target thermometer before. The big difference I have noticed it the Walmart basal thermometer takes
longer to take a reading than the Target one.

was suppose to be posted Wednesday but blogger was being weird

The Kitty Did It

I am blaming these two. They may look cute and cuddly and loving. But they have it out for me.

My basal thermometer is missing. It is no where to be found. I always leave it on my night stand but I haven't had it since Sunday morning. I have decided that my kitties don't want me to get pregnant. They are both such attention seekers they don't want to share my affection with anyone else. Sorry to burst their bubbles I am going to buy a new basal thermometer before work, so I can start temping again in the morning.

Easter Weekend Recap

I had a great Easter Weekend. I worked a split shift on Friday. That was a long day. Saturday I worked until 5. I wasn't feeling well so I came home and slept. I went to bed around 6:30 and didn't get up until 9:30. I didn't sleep the whole time but didn't really get out of bed just tossed and turned on and off. I ended up staying up until 2 am messing with my phone.
I have my blackberry password protected. My husband mistyped my password 10 times, (well he was trying to guess my password). After doing it 10 times blackberry automatically restarts your phone from scratch. It deletes everything that was in the phone, numbers, photos etc. There is no way to get to back which sucks. I have lost some contacts that I needed and phones I wanted. You can back-up your phone to the computer, which I am doing now just incase.
Sunday morning I woke up around 9. We didn't have to be at the in-laws until 1pm, so I had time to be lazy. I watched some tv and played on the internet. Around noon I went outside and made my backyard into a driving range. Since we have a long backyard and a field behind us, I figured I would be safe and not hit anything besides maybe a tree. And since this is only my second time swinging a golf club I knew my ball wouldn't go to far.
At the in-laws we had an easter egg hunt for my niece and cousin. They had easter eggs all over the yard. They said they had over 150 eggs in the yard. They had fun finding all the eggs with candy inside. My mother in law also does something a little different. After they get all the eggs. They can trade in a certain colored egg for a toy, like a blue egg for a blue bubble thingy. Here are some photos of them getting eggs. Then my camera died.

After the easter egg hunt we went inside for lunch-dinner. We had sanwiches with potato salad, coleslaw, beans and deviled eggs. For dessert was chocolate cake and chocolate pudding die that I made, and pumpkin pie. Then it ws off to my parents house for dinner at 5pm.
We had ham, eggs, rolls, broccoli and cheese, and potato salad. For dessert my mom made cheesecake, yumm.
It was a great weekend. Nice to spend the day with family and loved one, with no drama. My only little complaint is a comment that was made from a family member. They said "why aren't you pregnant yet aren't you guys trying". I just pretty much ignored them and they never said anything else. Not everyone is lucky enough to get pregnant the first try.

Fertility Friend

As I have said before Dave and I are trying to conceive (ttc). This my third cycle charting and tempting. I enter my information daily onto two different websites. TCOYF goes along with the book I read a few months ago. The other one is Fertility Friend It is more common and has more features. I like them both, but they both give me different ovulation days. I just started this cycle doing Fertility Friend in dept, I did enter all my information from my past two cycles into their database.
I have added the ticket of my cycle to the right side of the screen, if anyone is interested. It is also below.

For anyone else who is ttc I recommend both sites. They both have a lot of great info that is helpful and easy to understand.

TCOYF

I have said before my husband and I are trying to conceive. We have only been trying for a few months but haven't succeeded yet. I have told my girlfriends that we are trying and a few of them recommended this book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility".

It not only tells you about a women's and man's body, it helps you to understand what the body goes through each cycle, how to determine when you are going to ovulate, etc. The book also tells you how to use your body as a source of birth control without taking any additional hormones. Knowing that not every woman's cycle is 28 days (mine is normally 35) helps to determine when you are going to ovulate and that most charts are inaccurate. I have learned so much from this book. I recommend it to all women. There is so much that I didn't learn in health class, or when learning about puberty that now I know. I also think it would be a book that men should read also to help them understand a women's body.
Since reading the book I have been charting my basal body temperature and cervical fluid. Each morning my alarm goes off at 7:30am, I roll over grab my basal thermometer  stick it my mouth, wait, and when it beeps turn it off and set it back on the end table and go back to sleep. When I do wake up I turn the thermometer  back on and watch it real quick as it tells me what the last temperature was and write it in a notebook I keep next to the bed. Then when I go on the computer I enter all the info into the website. http://www.tcoyf.com/ It is nice that I can chart everything online and it helps to determine my peak day, when I should be ovulating, and mensing.

On a very personal note, my period is late this month but I know I am not pregnant since my temperature is normal. If I were pregnant I would have a high basal temperature in the morning. I am late since we moved and the stress that goes along with that. Unforunately now it is just a waiting game to see when my period will start again so we can get back to trying to conceive.
On another note a basal thermonitor is different than your normal thermometer . I got my pink one at Target for like $8.

*this was all me deciding to post about the book and website, no affilate to either.

Ps. I also forogt as another side note, I have ovarian cysts that can also mess with my fertility. I plan to go see the obgyn the end of this morning or beginning of next to talk about it.

Pregnancy Vent

This is not directed to anyone or about any one person in particular. This is just how I am feeling right now and needed to get it off my chest. I see some many people a day who are pregnant or just had a baby. I am really happy for them but I really wish it was me. Why does it always seem females who are trying to get pregnant have a harder time then that females who are not just trying and OPPS they get pregnant. I have a some of friends who are having a hard time trying to concieve and a few that weren't trying and just ended up getting pregnant. It doesn't seem far.

Vent over... at least for now

October to do list

Here is my list of the month of October, hopefully I will do better.

1- Clean the rabbit cage once a week on garbage night.
2- Put clothes away, not on the floor.
3- Stop stressing over not being pregnant. It will happen when it happens.
4- Organzie Bills.
