Family Heirloom and present

Yesterday I came home to a present in my living room. Dave brought me home his fathers cedar/home chest. It has been in his family for 3 or 4 generations, if not more. I don't remember the whole story. Dave's grandmother on his fathers side was born Amish. When she became of age she choose to become civialized. One of her grandparents made this many years ago and has been in the family since.

There was one minor little speculation detail that went along with getting this. If Dave and I ever get a divorce (which we hope never happens) I have to give it back so it stays in his family.

I haven't decided where I want to put it yet. At first I wanted it at the end of the bed. But Dave doesn't really want it there. Then I thought of putting it by the backdoor for something to sit on while you put on your shoes until I get the seat I really want. But I am afraid of the moisture and wettness for outside. Well just have to wait and see. and what to put in it. We don't have any extra blankets (we do need some thought) so that would work. Maybe I will put all my stuffed frogs in it.
He also brought me home another present. The engine builders (for our race car) wife was getting rid of this and wanted to know if we had one already. Since we aren't at that stage yet we haven't gotten or even really thought of much about it yet. My husband said we didn't have one and brought it home to me. It is nice of them to think of us. I have no problem having used items. Even if we do get a brand new one, once we have a baby, it will be nice to have a spare. Now I just have to find a place to store a stroller.

I keep our cedar chest in the guest room and put all my table linens and stuff in it.
Growing up, it was at the end of my doesnt go with our current bed room though.
That is a nice thing to have!
That is funny you already have a stroller now! :)
