Dave ended up having to take the tongs and pick up whatever was burning and throw it in the sink so we could stop it from burning. We ended up not having the frozen pizza as planned for dinner. It ended being a cereal night for dinner.
This morning I got up before Dave and decided to do the clean cycle on the oven. I found the owners manual that the previous home owners had left us and followed it's directions. Dave woke up to the smell of something burning again and me not in bed. He was a little concerned.
I forgot to take pictures last night of the mess. But here is a picture of my now clean stove.

So close to my heart. ONe of my first Thanksgivings with my husband we wbout burned down the house. He grabbed the rukey pan from the sides instead of the cookie sheet underneath the greas spilled down into the gas flames and fire shot up to the cieling. I can't remember how long it took for me to stop screaming at my husband but the house was fine and so was the Turkey and now we laugh about it every year! Blessings,
Amie
I've totally done this before, and it is the worst! The smell feels like it lasts for days! :) So sorry!
