TCOYF

I have said before my husband and I are trying to conceive. We have only been trying for a few months but haven't succeeded yet. I have told my girlfriends that we are trying and a few of them recommended this book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility".

It not only tells you about a women's and man's body, it helps you to understand what the body goes through each cycle, how to determine when you are going to ovulate, etc. The book also tells you how to use your body as a source of birth control without taking any additional hormones. Knowing that not every woman's cycle is 28 days (mine is normally 35) helps to determine when you are going to ovulate and that most charts are inaccurate. I have learned so much from this book. I recommend it to all women. There is so much that I didn't learn in health class, or when learning about puberty that now I know. I also think it would be a book that men should read also to help them understand a women's body.
Since reading the book I have been charting my basal body temperature and cervical fluid. Each morning my alarm goes off at 7:30am, I roll over grab my basal thermometer  stick it my mouth, wait, and when it beeps turn it off and set it back on the end table and go back to sleep. When I do wake up I turn the thermometer  back on and watch it real quick as it tells me what the last temperature was and write it in a notebook I keep next to the bed. Then when I go on the computer I enter all the info into the website. http://www.tcoyf.com/ It is nice that I can chart everything online and it helps to determine my peak day, when I should be ovulating, and mensing.

On a very personal note, my period is late this month but I know I am not pregnant since my temperature is normal. If I were pregnant I would have a high basal temperature in the morning. I am late since we moved and the stress that goes along with that. Unforunately now it is just a waiting game to see when my period will start again so we can get back to trying to conceive.
On another note a basal thermonitor is different than your normal thermometer . I got my pink one at Target for like $8.

*this was all me deciding to post about the book and website, no affilate to either.

Ps. I also forogt as another side note, I have ovarian cysts that can also mess with my fertility. I plan to go see the obgyn the end of this morning or beginning of next to talk about it.

I love that you are so on top of it, and even more that you (in the face of a missed period) have talked yourself out of the possibility that you could be pregnant. I (if I still had periods) would have myself convinced I was pregnant (in the most pathetic way) even if I hadn't had sex in months. Good for you! And good luck to you! I'll be sending happy thoughts your way...
